John Glaubitz


Attracted to music at a young age, John Glaubitz began composing even before he began playing instruments.   He started studying guitar at age 12, and has explored other instruments since then.

Mr. Glaubitz began performing while a high school student in the Philadelphia suburbs, participating in both the orchestra and marching band.   He studied and performed with various musical groups, playing guitar, double bass and sousaphone.   He also helped to develop the schoolís Advanced Placement Music Theory program.

Mr. Glaubitz furthered his studies at the internationally recognized College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) at the University of Cincinnati.   He was awarded a Bachelorís Degree in Music Composition.   There he studied and performed with the Jazz Guitar Ensemble, the Early Music Ensemble (viola da gamba), and the Chamber Singers (voice).   He composed music for various concert events as part of his training.   While studying at CCM, Mr. Glaubitz provided private and group instruction in guitar and music theory at the Cincinnati School for the Creative and Performing Arts.

Mr. Glaubitz is an active performer, composer, songwriter, and sound engineer.   While performing with various groups, he has functioned as a songwriter, guitarist, keyboardist, bassist, singer, harmonica player and sound engineer.   Through his performing and composing Mr. Glaubitz explores musical styles including classical, rock, jazz, hip hop, and flamenco.   He is also experienced in the use of musical software for composition and musical exploration.

Mr. Glaubitz joined MLMA in 2007.
